Data-protection policy

Please bear in mind that econda GmbH is a German company. All legal references accordingly concern German jurisdiction.

DATA PRIVACY AND DATA PROTECTION WITH ECONDA

econda takes data protection seriously! econda solutions meet all requirements of Germany's strict data-protection laws—which has been confirmed by TÜV Saarland.

econda and econda Monitor Software tracks data during the visit of the econda website as well as data on its customers websites to be used for statistical analysis. This data collection occurs with a pixel that is included in each page of the respective website. 

DATA PROCESSING

If the econda Web Analytics Tracking-Code is integrated on a website, data is transmitted from the website visitor (you) to us and is stored by us each time the Tracking-Code or the Tracking-Pixel gets called. Currently, the following data is collected:

  • Request (File name of the requested file)
  • Referrer URL (the previously visited page)
  • Shortened IP Address for geographic recognition
  • Browser  Version (for example, Internet Explorer 6.0)
  • Browser Language (for example, English)
  • Operating System (for example, Windows XP)
  • Browser Window Resolution
  • Screen Resolution
  • Accept settings of your web browser 
  • Color Depth
  • Timestamp
  • Contents of the cookies;
  • Information that is individually set by the customer in the tacking code or tracking pixel, e.g. lead type, value, …
  • Our internal ID.

Note: None of these data is related to any specific person and therefore no personal identifiable information is transmitted. This data will at no time be combined with other data sources that can be matched to a person!

SECURITY OF YOUR PERSONAL IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION

We protect your personal identifiable information from unauthorized access, use or disclosure. We ensure that your personal identifiable information will be in a controlled, secure environment in which unauthorized access or disclosure gets prevented.

TRANSMISSION OF YOUR DATA

We do not disclose your personal identifiable data to any third party. Solely our respective customer who uses econda has access to parts of this data that we collect in his charge. In case we are bound by law or court order we will transfer your data only to authorized state institutions and authorities.

COOKIE INFORMATION

econda Cookies are used by our clients to identify how users interact with their site, so that they can see things like the most popular pages and the journey that users take though their site and thus to improve their respective websites. These kinds of cookies may be used:

First Party cookies – These cookies are set by the domain of the website that you are visiting.

Third Party cookies – These cookies are set by a domain different to the one of the website that you are visiting. econda uses these when a client owns more than one website and wishes to see how users move between these (“cross domain tracking”), or in case our customer wishes to track the views of his ads on external sites.

In case the econda Web Analytics Tracking-Code is integrated by our customer on its website and if cross-domain-tracking is used, the following cookies will be stored by us on the computer of the website visitor (you):

  • Session cookie: containing the following contents: A random non back calculatable number (“Hash”); Expiry: End of session.
  • Visitor cookie: containing the following contents: A random non back calculatable number (“Hash”); Expiry: 3 years.

If the customer enables cookie-based campaign tracking, the following cookie will be stored by us on the computer of the website visitor (you):

  • Campaign cookie: containing the following contents: Information on the used advertising material (e.g. keyword, campaign, placement, adtext, network type) and Referrer; Expiry can be defined by our customer, default is 30 days.

In case our customer enables ad view tracking and ad view tracking-code is integrated in the customer’s ads, the following cookies will be stored by us on the computer of the visitor viewing the ad (you):

  • Ad View Cookie: containing the following contents: List of  Ad-Views - Dates and Information on the advertising material viewed (e.g. keyword, campaign, placement, adtext, network type) and Referrer; Expiry can be defined by our customer, default is 30 days.
  • Visitor cookie: containing the following contents: A random non back calculatable number (“Hash”); Expiry: 3 years.

THE MEANING OF INDIVIDUAL ASPECTS CERTIFIED BY TÜV: 

  • Data-protection compliance
    Certified data protection as per requirements of Germany's Online-Services Act, Germany's Federal Data-Protection Act, and recommendations issued by the German Commissioner for Data Protection.
  • Great data security
    Certified data security at econda's computing centers.
  • IP anonymization
    All IP addresses are rendered indecipherable to safeguard the anonymity of visitors.
  • Opt-out function
    econda provides a convenient opt-out function for your website's visitors and for visitors to customer websites.

INFORM YOUR USERS AND REVOCATION OF DATA STORAGE

Explain to your website's visitors the use of econda's data-protection-compliant solution and offer them a chance to simply and permanently opt out of the econda Tracking function. Add the following passage to your data-protection policy: 

“To ensure the tailored design and optimum performance of this website, solutions and technologies by econda GmbH (www.econda.com) not only collect and store anonymized data, but also utilize this data to compile usage profiles by means of pseudonyms. Cookies can be used for this purpose which make it possible for an Internet browser to be recognized. Without the express consent of a visitor, however, usage profiles will not be stored together with data pertaining to the pseudonymous visitor. IP addresses, in particular, are rendered indecipherable immediately after receipt, which makes it impossible to match a usage profile with an IP address. Visitors to this website can opt out here—at any time—of the collecting and storing of their data.”
